Live Scan
Fingerprinting
Need to be fingerprinted for a permit, license, or job?
We're here to help.
All of our rollers are DOJ-certified. And with a competitive $25 rolling fee, we're a great choice.

What exactly is Live Scan?
Live Scan is both an inkless fingerprint capture technique and the technology to capture these fingerprints digitally.
No ink. No mess. Just biometrics of the highest quality.
The fingerprints are then transmitted directly to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and/or federally to the FBI. The DOJ then checks the fingerprints against known criminal records as part of a background investigation.
Those requiring Live Scan include daycare workers, nurses, eldercare workers, immigration agencies, notaries, foster parents, contractors, stockbrokers, realtors, surgeons, DMV professionals, teachers, pawnbrokers, attorneys, dental hygienists, pharmacists, security guards, locksmiths, and more.
What is the Live Scan process?
Your licensing agency or employer will provide a Request for Live Scan Service form, which you must bring with you to be fingerprinted. It must be complete and accurate! The original form will stay at the Oris office, and two copies will go to you: one for the agency requesting the prints and one for your records.
Once your identity is verified and your information entered into the system, your fingerprints will be captured or "rolled" in order to get the most print information or "minutiae" possible for use by the DOJ and/or FBI.
You will then get an "ATI" - or Automated Transaction Identifier. This identifies your fingerprint transaction and is unique to you. This number can then be used to check the status of your fingerprint submission.
What types of identification are acceptable?
