How is a Covid-19 Rapid Test performed?
Oris uses the fingerstick method of obtaining whole blood. The blood drop is then collected using a disposable pipette, after which a drop is placed on the test strip. Two drops of buffer is then added. After a 15-min wait period, the strip is read by a technician.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring a goverment-issued photo ID, such as a Driver's License, Passport, or State ID card.
How long does the test take?
The Covid-19 Rapid Test usually takes about 30 minutes, including the 15-minute required wait time after the specimen is placed on the test strip. Please note that time can vary!
What does a positive test mean?
Antibodies start developing within 1 to 3 weeks after infection, so, in general, a positive antibody test is presumed to mean a person has been infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, at some point in the past.
How do you read the strip?
The strip is read based on the absence or prescence of a colored line in certain control areas, and a change in color in other control areas.
